Super Star FC crowned Champions in Yei County

06 06 2012 – (YEI) – Super Star FC are the Champions of South Sudan Cup 2012 in Yei County, Central Equatoria State.

Super Star needed 120 minutes to see-off Peace Football Club to become tournaments first Champions in the County on Tuesday.

The normal 90 minutes of play ended in a 1-1draw, but after dominance of the last 15 minutes of extra time by the newly crowned Champions, show them put two goals at the back of the net.

The final was attended by Yei County Commissioner and delegations from South Sudan Football Association headed by its Vice President Mr Yohanis Moses Pouk.

Super Star FC will now take part in the all Champions’ tournament that will determine the final South Sudan Champion who will represent South Sudan in Next year’s Cecafa Club competition.

This means, Central Equatoria will have two Champions in Nasir FC of Juba County and Super Star FC of Yei County.

  2. Hey! there were teams in South Sudan already before the secession or the independence of South Sudan. The Team was Kator FC! But there was no league system as it depended on the Khartoum league and mostly playing friendlies with likes of Hilal and Merreikh.

      there use3d to be a Juba local league, so they have been taking part in it and also winnig in some years, what only they played together with the teams from Khartoum was Sudan Cup
