Uganda international Okuti completes El Nasir switch

The Uganda international Cesar Okuti have completed his transfer to the Police side of Juba El Nasir this afternoon from Vipers of Uganda Super League for undisclosed fee.Image

Okuti has put pen to papers on a three year deal with an option of one year. The 23-year-old striker became the first international player to be signed by any South Sudanese club.

El Nasir head Coach Dudu Bosco who was the childhood Coach of Cesar at Arua Central, says he is delighted to have secured the player who has also been tracked by other teams like Malakia FC and he is looking forward to working with him again.

El Nasir are currently second on League table standing with 13 points after six games and could field Okuti in their next game against Al Hilal FC on the 4th of July if the player gets his permit.

If Cesar misses out on this game then he would be available for top of table clash with Atlabara who are currently leading with 15 points having played one more game than Nasir.

This looks to be a decent addition to El Nasir’s squad who are eyeing the league title for the first time in the Club’s history.

Berekum Chelsea down FC Atlabara

Image

Berekum Chelsea hold first leg advantage after beating FC Atlabara 2-0 at the Golden City Park on Sunday thanks to brace by Samuel Jackson Owusu.

But Owusu, a member of Ghana’s squad at the just ended CHAN tournament, will miss the return leg on15th of this month in Khartoum after picking up a red card for retaliation.

The 2012 CAF Champions League Group stage campaigners were frustrated by the South Sudanese who were defensive for the greater part of the match.

The relatively inexperienced Chelsea side could not break the dead-lock  until the 54th minute when Owusu fired home with a spectacular volley just outside the 18-yard box.

Chelsea’s Prince Attakora-Gyimah, Benett Ofori and Kevin Boateng were influential for the Blues upfront.

The centre-back pair of Wilson Akakpo and Paul Aidoo also did well to hold the debutants in check.

In additional time, Chelsea won a penalty when Attakora-Gyimah was felled inside the box for a 91st minute penalty.

Spot-kick expert Owusu picked the ball and rightly planted it for the second half which will go a long way to cushion them ahead of the return leg.

But the goalscorer was shortly send off after hitting back at an Atlabara player who had kicked his legs.
