SSFA President appointed as FIFA’s Fair Play Committee member

29 06 2012 – (JUBA) – FIFA has appointed South Sudan FA President Mr Chabur Goc Alei as a member of the Fair Play and Social Responsibility Committee.

Mr Chabur received the appointment letter from the FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke on Friday.

The next meeting of the Fair Play and Social Responsibility Committee is scheduled to take place in September this year in Zurich.

Richard Justin joins the camp on Thursday

29 06 2012 – (JUBA) – Former AL Hilal defender Richard Justin is the latest player to join the South Sudan National team camp on Thursday.

The Khartoum Talata (3) defender arrived from Khartoum on Thursday morning and had his first training session in the evening at Juba University playing ground.

The arrival of the former Sudan International defender has boosted Coach Zoran’s defence department.

The Serbian Tactician will now have to rely on the vast experience of Richard Justin along his former team-mate Athir Thomas in defence.

The 32-year-old player played with AL Hilal for six years before going back to Khartoum 3 where he started his career and has been tipped by most fans to captain the team.

AL Hilal number one goalkeeper, Juma Genaro remains the other big name yet to join the camp by the end of this week.

Juma has one more game with Hilal on Friday 29th before making his way for the international duty.

Yahiya Abassi joins the camp on Wednesday

28 06 2012 – (JUBA) – South Sudan number one goalie Yahiya Abassi has joined the camp on Wednesday.

Abassi has been away after losing his father back in Uganda few days ago, but he looks strong to challenge for his number one jersey with yet AL Hilal shot-stopper Juma Genero to join the camp on the first of July.

“Let them do the talking, as for as we will show them football” Yahiya Abassi

Abassi was the number one keeper during the last year’s 3-1 defeat to Tusker FC of Kenya in Juba.

Two of the Tusker goals were scored by Abassi’s center backs, Mohamed Zachariah of Atlabara who is also in the current camp and Nimri of Kator.

Nimri did not recieve call this time round, but the team has quality and experienced defenders in Thomas Athir of AL Ahly, Marker Albino of Malakia FC, Richard Justin of Khartoum Talata (3) who is yet to join on Thursday.

Khartoum 3 veteran defender to joing camp on Thursday ahead of Uganda game

27 06 2012 – (JUBA) – The veteran Khartoum Talata (3) defender Richard Justin Lado is set to join the South Sudan national team camp on Thursday ahead of the friendly game against Uganda Cranes on the 10th of July.

The camp is already boosted by some big names like Joseph James Moga who plays his trade mark in Indian League, Khamis Martin of AL Mourada, Jimmy Mandela of AL Nsoor and Athir Thomas of AL Ahly.

The Serbian Tactician, Zoran Dordevic will have experience to mix as spices in his squad with some of these players having played with their clubs in CAF Champions League and confederation of CAF.

About 28 players have been called in the preliminary squad with yet AL HIlal custodian Juma Genero, Richard Justin and Zachariah to join the Camp before the end of this week.

Zoran divided the team for the first time on Tuesday during evening training session and the former Bangladesh head Coach preferred using 4-3-3 formation, symbolising his strong link to Barcelona philosophy where he has worked as a player and coach.

The moral is so high in the camp and the players are enjoying themselves under the Serbian Coach.


Wau Salama FC are to arrive to Juba on Wednesday for their last phase of the preparation ahead of their trip to Dar es Salaam for the CECAFA tournament.

The South Sudan 2011 Champions will join the rest of the East and Central African Champions for the tournament which kicks-off on the 14th of July in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Coach Zoran penned down one year deal with South Sudan national team

23 06 2012 – (JUBA) – Serbian tactician, Zoran Dordevic has penned down one year deal with South Sudan Football Association for the managerial post on Friday in Juba.

Zoran who won East Asian games with Bangalandesh in 2010, had initial wanted two years contract, but the FA was relacted to award him.

The contract will be renewed depending on the performance of the team.

Zoran will be getting $4,000 as monthly salary and other allownces together with bonnuses of every game either a win or draw.

In his emotional press briefying immediately after signing the contract, the 60-year-old Coach said that it is a huge challnge to take up such a job.

“I know the tusk is huge first for the president, vice president, General Secretary for all of us especially you media, i believe you will criticise us when you need to criticise but also you will say something good when you need to say”

Zoran being driven by emotions while addressing the press, shade tears in the memory of all those who lost their lives in the war and claiming that his Country has the same histroy.

Zoran’s first task will be against Uganda Cranes on the 10th of July in Juba at Juba Stadium.

Joseph Moga completes his move to Pune FC

21 06 2012 – (JUBA) – South Sudan international Striker Joseph James Moga completed his transfer from Club de Geo to Pune FC before flying to Juba.

Moga signed a one year contract with the runners-up of the League which will keep him to Pune till next year.

“I signed for Pune because Pune FC is a big team and Pune is a very good place to stay in India especially for my family” Moga

Club de Geo was promoted from Second division and finished 7th on the table standings last season.

Moga is now in camp with the national team preparing for the friendly game against Uganda on the 10th of July.

7 players arrived from Khartoum on Wednesday and joined the national team camp but Athir Thomas Mogor of AL Hilal and Khamis Martin of Moroda will join on Saturday.

The two players have games to play for their teams on Thursday before coming for international duty.
